Monthly Meeting 
 

The Board of Fire Commissioners meets the 2nd Monday of each month at 7 pm. 

 

From January to April and  October to December meetings are held at the firehouse on Blodgett Road off Route 32 in the hamlet of Quaker Springs.  From May to September, meetings are held at Station 2 on NYS Route 9P at the north end of Saratoga Lake. 

 

All meetings of the Board of Fire Commissioners are open to the public.

Quaker Springs Fire District Election

On Tuesday, December 8 2009, voters in the Quaker Springs Fire District elected David Poltynski to a five-year term as Fire Commissioner.  Dave campaigned to fill the seat vacated by Stanley Bialahoski after Stanley stepped down after serving as Fire Commissioner for 40 years.   Dave won by a vote of 49-40.

 

Dave has been a member of QSFD since 2006 and has served as the head of the Recruitment and Retention Committee.

 


 

Quaker Springs Fire District Election

On Tuesday, December 9, 2008, voters in the Quaker Springs Fire District re-elected Martin Hanehan to a five-year term as Fire Commissioner. 32 voters turned out at the Quaker Springs Firehouse returning the incumbent unanimously.  Marty has been a Fire Commissioner since 2003 and serves as the head of the Building Committee.

 

Also on the ballot was the election of the Fire District Treasurer.  Voters re-elected Anne Crandall to a three-year term as Treasurer.  Anne has served as District Treasurer/Secretary since 2000.
